Bamboo Health Automation: What's Changing?

Congratulations! Bamboo Health is about to get even easier to incorporate into your care management workflows.

In this article:

What to Expect When Your Facility Switches to Automation:
  • All admissions and discharges will automatically carry over to Bamboo Health from your electronic health record (EHR).  
  • You will no longer be able to manually update data in Bamboo Health, with the following exception: 
    • You still will need to manually update patient events to apply the 3-Day Waiver flag (as applicable) 
    • For facilities integrated with PointClickCare, you will be able to manually edit the setting (skilled, long-term care, etc.) for open admissions

Areas in Progress:
  • Admitted from, discharged to, and level of care data is not consistently sent from post-acute EHRs to Bamboo Health; these fields may be blank in Bamboo Health after automation go-live. 
  • Medical Leaves of Absence are not consistently processed in the data Bamboo Health receives from post-acute vendors.  
  • Health insurance number does not render for any facilities that have automated their use of Bamboo Health
    • Insurer information will render as either Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, or Self-Pay.
